Independence Day marks a historic milestone in our nation’s journey toward sovereignty and self-governance. Aladi Aruna College of Liberal Arts and Science commemorated this significant occasion with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
The celebration commenced with the rendition of Tamizh Thai Vazhthu, fostering a deep sense of unity among students and faculty. Under the esteemed leadership of Dr. V. Muthamilan, Principal, the national flag was unfurled, as attendees paid their respects in a moment of pride and reverence. The event proceeded with the harmonious singing of the flag song, followed by the college pupil leader leading the pledge, reaffirming the students’ commitment to national values and responsibilities.
Dr. D. Jones Sudha, Head of the English Department, delivered the welcoming address, extending warm greetings to all and emphasizing the importance of Independence Day. In his Presidential Address, the Principal reflected on the struggles and sacrifices of freedom fighters, reinforcing the ideals of freedom, sovereignty, national unity, and progress.
The celebration was further enriched by a cultural program, where students showcased India’s rich classical heritage through vibrant performances that embodied the nation’s cultural diversity. A prize distribution ceremony followed, recognizing students’ excellence in indoor and outdoor sports, with trophies awarded by the Principal.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Arumuga Selvi, Head of the Tamil Department, expressing appreciation for the faculty, students, and organizers for their invaluable contributions. The celebration culminated in the soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem, as attendees stood in solemn reverence, embracing the spirit of patriotism and national pride.
